What is the ReStore?
The Habitat ReStore is a home improvement, building material reuse center.  Through public and private donations, the Habitat ReStore diverts large amounts of reusable materials from landfills and provides materials to the public at low prices.

Is the ReStore open to the public?
Yes! Anyone is welcome to shop at the ReStore. Store hours are 9-4 Thursday through Saturday.

What does the ReStore sell?
Sales items may consist of but are not limited to: cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, hardware, roofing, carpet, tools, trim, doors, lumber, flooring, paint and windows. Check back often, our inventory changes frequently!

How are the items priced at the ReStore?
Materials are sold to the public anywhere from 50 - 85% off their normal retail price.

Where do items come from?
The Habitat ReStore accepts new and used building and housing related materials from contractors, suppliers, individuals, remodelers and property managers.  See our donation page if you have something you might want to contribute!

How often do you get new merchandise?
Our inventory changes often - we receive new items weekly, if not daily.

Where will the proceeds from the sales go?
Proceeds from ReStore sales will support Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity's primary objectives of building affordable, energy efficient houses for low-income families.

Will my donations be Tax deductible?
Yes, but please consult with a tax accountant  or you can also download more information in MS Word format here.

Will the ReStore place a value on the items we donate?
No, you will be required to place the value on your donations.

Will you pick items up?
It is a possibility, but due to our limited pick up schedule and small start-up volunteer base, we will prefer to have materials dropped off at a scheduled time Tuesday-Saturday from 9am-4pm.

Where are you located?
2401 S. Scott Boulevard in Iowa City just North of Highway 6.

How can my business get involved?
There are many ways local businesses can contribute: financial donations, equipment donations, sponsor a special event for the ReStore, place an ad for or with the ReStore, volunteer at the ReStore, donate materials to the ReStore, or shop at the ReStore.

How can I help?
