Barry, a retired carpentry instructor from Kirkwood, has supported Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity for decades, alongside his wife, Sue, through generous contributions, volunteer work, and donating numerous tools and household goods to our ReStore. Moreover, Barry has shaped Habitat’s legacy through his ongoing mentoring of our very own Construction Manager, Christy Shipley, beginning nearly 20 years ago. Christy credits Barry as an early encourager and mentor who recognized her determination, talent, and potential before she even began her Habitat career. This piece is truly one of a kind.
